AI Use and Marking

Maya is an AI tutor. She introduces each part of the course and she is not a person. She does not answer questions about your health, she does not see your record, and she is not a substitute for a clinician or for the founder. The forty-item final assessment is marked by AI. Nothing else about your learning is decided by a machine.

A named human author, working with AI as a drafting and checking instrument under her direction. Every clinical claim in the handbook is traceable to a named source or is marked in the text as unverified, as an evidence gap, or as needing review by a date.

You answer forty questions in your own words. Those answers are marked against the course's model answers by an AI model. We record which model marked your attempt and when, so the record always shows what marked what.

Where a result falls within five points either side of the pass mark, a person reviews it before it stands. A random sample of other results is reviewed as well. Moderation can only move a result in your favour: a pass stays a pass, whatever a reviewer thinks of individual answers. You can ask for a human review of any result at any time, at no cost, and asking is never held against you. We acknowledge a request within five working days and decide within twenty.

Your answers are saved, nothing is recorded, and it does not count as an attempt. A failure on our side must never appear on your record.

The knowledge checks inside each module are marked by you, against the model answers, and they do not decide whether you progress. Your reflection writing is never marked and never read for grading.

They are sent to the marking service for the sole purpose of marking your assessment. How we handle your information generally is set out in the Privacy Policy.

This document is reviewed at least once a year, and whenever the model we use for marking changes.
